Export and Printing

All Network Inventory Advisor reports can be easily exported and printed.

Exporting Reports

To export a report, click the “Export This Now” button in the upper-right corner. A drop-down menu will appear and you will need to select a file format for your exported data. Your options are as follows:

  • HTML text: This export format can be opened in a web browser and it will look very much like what you see on screen in Network Inventory Adviser. Please note that reports exported in HTML are 100% compatible with IE 6+ only — we do not guarantee their compliance with other browsers.
  • Excel-type CSV with commas: CSV (comma-separated values) is a simple textual data format. This option has the data separated by commas, and is the most common one used if you wish to import your data into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
  • CSV with semicolons: Another variation of CSV, where data is separated by semicolons instead of commas.
  • TSV (tab-separated values): A third variation of CSV, where the data is separated by tabs.
  • SQL for MySQL: This exported script is compatible with MySQL.
  • SQL for MS Access: This exported script is compatible with Microsoft Access (you will need to use BatchAccess).
  • SQL for MS SQL: This exported script is compatible with MS SQL.
  • XML: Our proprietary XML format joins and describes all inventory data by asset, then data category, and then all details within each category.
  • Internal Format: This format is new in version 4 and simplifies the exchange and management of reports between multiple Network Inventory Advisor users. It also improves the security of the transferred data.
  • PDF: This option allows you to save the report as a PDF file, which can be opened and viewed on almost any computer.

You can also export the scan log (into ANSI TXT file), or simply copy/paste it if needed.

Printing Reports

Printing with Network Inventory Advisor is simple. Click “Print” at any time to print the report you are viewing. In the Print Preview dialog box you can configure scaling, margins, orientation, header and footer, etc. You can also access your Print Setup dialog box by clicking the arrow at the bottom of the Print button and select “Page setup.”

Please note that when printing pre-defined reports you can configure some layout options, including the company logo, in Settings > Personalize.
